Georgina has been a part of academia for a long time, helping to amplify and empower Indigenous students at the University of Arizona and NMSU. She has also helped amplify the voices of BIPOC researchers by helping start a Chicano Journal at NMSU where “The mission of the journal is to publish scholarship and creative works by Chicana, Latina and Indigenous women or scholarship through the feminist perspectives that those communities offer.” Georgina is also part of a book called, American Indian Studies: Native PhD Graduates Gift Their Stories, where she shares advice on navigating college as an Indigenous person.
