The Empowerers

Vivianna Arciniega and Stevie Paz

It is a day where we celebrate women from all countries, regardless of the borders that divide us. I want to celebrate the Latina women and although there are differences between countries we are united by the language and the strong passion for our culture and our traditions. I celebrate the woman who is brave and takes a risk. The traveling woman who crosses rivers and mountains in search of a better tomorrow. – Vivianna Arciniega, Organizer of CAfé

What does International women’s day mean to me and my community? It is the celebration of the resilience, power, and strength that women carry with them in their everyday lives and existence. As a Mexican American woman, these values are the backbone of all the women in my family. We are the hardworking homemakers, nurses, teachers, mothers, daughters, cousins and aunts. International Women’s Day is a reminder of the strong and resilient women of color that we are and that our existence is valuable to our culture and to our people. – Stevie Paz, Logistics Manager of CAfé
